Terms of Service
The short version
- QuxSkills is a marketplace: sellers list skills for AI assistants, buyers get them, and we run the place in between.
- Paid sales go through Stripe. Sellers are paid by Stripe; we keep a 15% platform fee on each sale.
- A buyer gets the licence shown at checkout, usually personal and commercial use, never resale.
- Refunds can be asked for within 14 days; the seller or our staff decide.
- Every version is scanned and anything that runs is reviewed, but you install skills at your own risk.
- We take down what breaks the Acceptable Use Policy or someone else’s rights.
1. Who we are and this agreement
QuxSkills is operated by [Legal entity name] (“QuxSkills”, “we”, “us”), of [Registered address]. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and us about your use of the QuxSkills website, accounts, marketplace and programmatic interfaces (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you use the Service for an organisation, you agree for it and confirm you may bind it. You must be at least 18 years old.
2. What the marketplace is
QuxSkills lists skills for AI assistants: Claude Agent Skills, ChatGPT custom GPT set-ups, Gemini Gems, prompt packs and MCP server configurations, written and sold by independent sellers. A skill is a package of files you install in an assistant you already use. We do not run skills, and we never host or run a seller's MCP server.
Sellers are not our employees or agents. Each listing is the seller's own statement about their skill. We do not promise that any skill works with any assistant, keeps working after a vendor changes its product, or is right for your purpose.
3. Your account
Keep your password safe and your email address current: it is how we reach you about orders, refunds and reviews. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us at [Legal and privacy contact email] if you think someone else has used it.
4. Selling
To sell, you open a seller profile and, for paid listings, connect a Stripe account. Stripe, not QuxSkills, verifies your identity, collects your tax information and pays you; you agree to Stripe's own terms for that (Stripe Connected Account Agreement).
When a buyer pays, Stripe sends your share straight to your Stripe account and we keep a platform fee of 15% of the price. Free listings cost nothing. Stripe pays you out on its schedule; we do not hold your money.
You promise that you wrote each skill or have the right to sell it, that its listing is accurate, that it follows our Acceptable Use Policy, and that it contains no one's personal data or credentials. You grant us a licence to store, scan, review, display and deliver your skill, and to show its README, to run the marketplace.
Every version you upload is scanned automatically. Anything that runs code, and anything the scan flags, waits for our staff to review it. A version cannot be changed once submitted: a change is a new version, reviewed again. We may reject a version, or take a listing down, with a reason.
5. Buying, and the buyer licence
You get a skill by claiming it (free) or paying for it through Stripe. You are buying a licence to the skill from its seller, on the terms shown on the listing and at checkout, which we keep with your order. Unless the listing offers another licence, the standard buyer licence applies: you may install, use and modify the skill for your own personal and commercial purposes, including inside work you deliver to others; you may not resell, redistribute, sublicense or publish it, or a substantial part of it, as a skill, template or prompt in its own right.
You can download the versions of a skill you hold for as long as it is listed. If a listing is taken down for a safety or rights reason, downloads stop.
Prices are in US dollars and include no tax unless shown. Stripe processes your card; we never see the full number.
6. Refunds
You may ask for a refund within 14 days of paying, from your library. The seller decides first; our staff may decide instead, including when a skill does not do what its listing says, cannot be installed, or breaks our policies. An approved refund returns the full price to your card through Stripe and ends your licence to that skill: delete your copies. Nothing in these Terms limits a right to a refund you have under the law where you live.
7. Ratings and reports
Only people who hold a skill may rate it, and a rating must be your honest view. Anyone signed in may report a listing. We read reports and may remove ratings, listings or accounts that break these Terms.
8. Takedowns and copyright (DMCA)
We remove listings that break our Acceptable Use Policy, infringe someone's rights, or put buyers at risk, and we tell the seller why.
If you believe a listing infringes your copyright, send a notice to [Legal and privacy contact email] with: your contact details; the work you say is infringed; the listing's address; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. A seller whose listing is removed may send a counter-notice to the same address. We end the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Installing skills is at your own risk
Skills can change what an assistant does, and some run code on your machine or connect your assistant to other services. Our scanning and review reduce the risk; they do not remove it. Read a skill before you install it, run code only where you would run any code from its author, and never give a skill credentials it does not need.
10. Suspension and ending
You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. Licences you bought before an account ends survive it, except after a refund.
11. Changes
We may change the Service and these Terms. If a change is material we will tell you before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept it.
12. Disclaimers
The Service and every skill on it are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that the Service or any skill is fit for a purpose, error-free, secure or always available.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by a skill, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the platform fees we received from your purchases in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of [Governing law], and disputes go to the courts of [Courts (venue)], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
